Hi Reader, Sometimes lessons hide in the strangest places. You may know that I'm writing a novel - a project I've been working on for over 20 years. Last summer, I took what I thought would be a big step forward and joined a group program with a certified Book Coach. But sometimes the wrong fit can teach us the most valuable lessons. That first coach wanted to completely change my story. She didn't want the love interest to die (she wanted her to abandon the main character instead). She didn't want my character to struggle with alcohol. She didn't like my ending. While she made some helpful suggestions, it felt like she was trying to write her story, not help me write mine. Then something amazing happened. After another false start with a second coach, I found Samantha. From our very first call, I knew this was different. Instead of telling me what my story should be, Sam asked questions and listened. She gave me choices and explored options with me. She offered her professional opinion when needed, but always in a respectful way that honored my vision. Here's what blew my mind: In just a two months working with Sam, I've written over 47,000 words - that's half my novel! Before her, I had just two scenes totaling 4,700 words, despite working on this story (haphazardly) for two decades. The right coach made all the difference. This experience made me realize something powerful about my own work as a photo management coach. Like Sam (who's a former teacher), I approach coaching from an educator's perspective - meeting you where you are and helping you go as far as you can go. It's no coincidence that I tend to attract lots of teachers and former teachers in my world. They recognize good teaching when they see it! 😁 So here's a question for you to ponder - how could working with a coach who truly listens and supports your vision help you achieve your photo organization goals?
